We're days away from the NFC and AFC Championship Games, which means we're only a couple weeks away from the next Super Bowl. That means one team will soon have a shiny, new Lombardi trophy to add to its collection, but more importantly: prop bets!
NFL Playoffs 2014: Prop bets for conference championships, Super Bowl 48
We’re deep into the NFL playoffs, and that means one thing: prop bets!

Yes, prop bets are here, and while there won’t be any truly crazy ones until we get to the Super Bowl, there are still plenty of totally nonsensical things you can bet on before Sunday’s games.
Bovada has the odds up on their site to check out. The first two odds listed refer to ratings -- which game will have the higher rating and which market will have the highest rating. In both instances, the choice relating to the Denver Broncos is favored. The New England Patriots vs. Broncos game is -300 on the higher TV rating prop bet, while Denver is -200 in the highest market, with Seattle at +300, and both New England and San Francisco at +500.
Then we get to things relative to the 49ers-Seahawks game, namely those revolving around Seattle's home-field advantage. The over/under for how many false start penalties the 49ers will have in the game is at 2, with an under bet at -140 odds. There's also odds on what the highest decibel level shown will be, with the over/under set at 135.5 and -140 on over.
Also in that game is whether or not a Seahawks player will kiss his bicep after scoring a touchdown. That's the "Kaepernick" celebration that 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick uses. Kaepernick taunted Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton by doing his celebration in the Divisional round matchup this past week. The "no" option is -1000, and "yes" is at +500. One has to wonder if the league has told officials to keep an eye out for taunting for this one.
There are also prop bets on whether or not the Patriots will have more passing yards than rushing yards, whether a game will go to overtime or whether or not there will be a two-point conversion in either game.
When it comes to individual player statistics, there's Peyton Manning favored for most passing yards at -150, Marshawn Lynch for most rushing yards at +120, Demaryius Thomas for most receiving yards at 7/2 and then individual plays on most of the big-name players, which you can find at the link above.
There are some lines for the Super Bowl up at this point. There aren’t many, but you can bet on the exact matchup in regard to which two teams will end up playing the game -- Seattle vs. Denver is the favorite at 13/10 odds. Seattle against New England comes in at 7/2.
Then you can bet on the outcome, with the Seahawks beating the Broncos being the top choice at 3/1 and New England beating San Francisco being the bottom choice at 9/1. You can bet on whether or not it will snow during the game: +150 on “yes,” -200 on “no.” You can bet on the over/under for the temperature at kickoff, which is set at 32 degrees, or simply take one of the NFC or AFC overall.
The crazier stuff will follow in the coming week.
