Former NFL safety Darren Sharper has been arrested on felony charges in Los Angeles.


Former NFL safety Darren Sharper has been arrested on felony charges, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's web site. The 38-year-old former NFL star was arrested on Friday afternoon in Los Angeles and is being held on $200,000 bail.
Sharper is believed to be suspected of rape, according to reports by TMZ and ProFootballTalk. Sharper is accused of two sexual assaults, one in October 2013 and another in January 2014, according to TMZ.
Sharper most recently played for the New Orleans Saints and was a key member of their 2009 Super Bowl winning season. Sharper also had stints with the Minnesota Vikings and Green Bay Packers in his 14-year NFL career.
