Aqib Talib injury: Patriots CB leaves game after colliding with Wes Welker
The Patriots’ top cornerback went to the locker room for further evaluation.

UPDATE (4:49 p.m. ET): Patriots cornerback Aqib Talib has a knee injury and is questionable to return, according to the Patriots official Twitter account.
New England Patriots cornerback Aqib Talib went down with a rib injury in the second quarter of the AFC Championship Game against the Denver Broncos on Sunday. It appeared the New England training stuff was looking at an upper body injury before he was taken to the locker room for further evaluation, and the team subsequently announced that he was questionable with a rib issue:
Talib rib injury. Questionable to return.
— Judy Battista (@judybattista) January 19, 2014 CBS added that Talib went directly to the x-ray room before going to the locker room.
Talib, who serves as New England’s top cornerback, left the game after colliding with Broncos wide receiver Wes Welker. He was able to walk off under his own power but then needed to leave the field for examination.
Earlier in the game, Alfonzo Dennard was shaken up a bit before returning to the game. New England opened up the game playing a lot of man coverage, but with two of their most physical cornerbacks shaken up early, it will be interesting to see if the Patriots change their approach. Peyton Manning and the Broncos have already had some success throwing the football.
