The Denver Broncos got a minor scare when kicker Matt Prater had to miss the team's bye week practices on Thursday and Friday due to an illness. However, at a press conference on Sunday, John Fox assured the media that the Broncos' kicker is feeling better and will be able to kick in the Super Bowl on Sunday. Prater is officially listed as questionable for the game along with running back Knowshon Moreno, according to Tom Pelissero of USA Today.

Sunday was the first day of a week-long build up to the big game. The Broncos touched down in New York and had their first press conference of the week. Head coach John Fox, quarterback Peyton Manning, and wide receiver Wes Welker were among those who spoke, and SB Nation's Broncos blog, Mile High Report, was among those in attendance. Here are some things worth noting.

Peyton Manning says he wants to keep playing

Speculation has already begun that if the Broncos win the Super Bowl, Manning could retire and go out on a high note. While he didn’t completely shut down the idea on Sunday, he did say he would like to continue playing, according to Mile High Report. He says he is focused on the game and hasn’t even thought about anything else.

Wes Welker moving on from Super Bowl loss

Wes Welker has had a chance to win a Super Bowl before. As a member of the New England Patriots two seasons ago, Welker let a pass slip through his fingers in the fourth quarter that could have helped the Patriots win the game. He's trying not to think about that for obvious reasons.

“The past is the past,” Welker said via Mile High Report. “You gotta move on from it.”

Oh, and check out Welker’s suit.
