Super Bowl XLVIII Media Day: Percy Harvin ‘ready to play,’ thinks he can be a factor
At Tuesday’s Super Bowl Media Day, Percy Harvin said he’s ready to play.

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Percy Harvin is ready to play in the Super Bowl, but nobody is quite sure what to expect from him. Among his believers, though, is Harvin himself. He said that he "can be a factor in this game," according to Pro Football Talk.
“I’m ready to play football,” Harvin said at Tuesday’s Media Day. The veteran wide receiver was traded to the Seahawks last offseason, and they signed him to a six-year, $67-million contract. Unfortunately, he’s done very little to contribute to Seattle’s Super Bowl run up until this point.
That's because Harvin has yet to play through a complete game with the Seahawks. He sustained an injury during offseason activities and, when he made his debut late in the season, he experienced pain in his hip. After returning to the playoffs against the New Orleans Saints in the Divisional round, he sustained a concussion and missed the NFC Championship game against the San Francisco 49ers.
Obviously, Seattle has been a good enough team to make it this far without Harvin. Russell Wilson is one of the best quarterbacks in the game these days, though many have suggested the passing game has suffered for lack of receiving options. What Harvin brings to the table could be huge. The problem is we haven’t seen it yet.
Harvin is fast -- really fast. He's a quick-twitch receiver with the ability to line up anywhere on the field. He's something the Seahawks haven't had in the passing game to this point. Doug Baldwin has excelled with an expanded role and Golden Tate has been effective in the red zone, but Harvin can do so much more.
Whether or not he actually will, or if he’ll stay healthy, remains to be seen. He’d certainly be picking the best game to put his best foot forward.
