New Orleans Saints cornerback Keenan Lewis has left Saturday's Wild Card matchup with an apparent head injury. Lewis collided with Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Jason Avant while successfully breaking up a pass.

The New Orleans cornerback left the game late in the third quarter after breaking up a pass.

Lewis tackled Avant at high speed and led with his helmet, though he did not collide with Avant’s helmet. Instead, Lewis hit Avant’s shoulder and was immediately holding his head on the ground. The New Orleans coaching staff came on to the field and, after a minute or two, helped Lewis to his feet and escorted him to the sideline.

If it is indeed a head injury, Lewis will have to get a mandatory head evaluation as per the NFL’s concussion protocol. That would mean Lewis is out for the rest of the game. That appears to be the case, as he was visibly upset and was seen arguing with the coaches on the sidelines.
Philadelphia managed a big reception to DeSean Jackson on the next play, though he wasn't being covered by Lewis' replacement, Rod Sweeting. Instead, Corey White gave up the 40-yard catch. The Eagles ended up scoring on the drive, cutting the Saints' lead 20-14.
