Jeremy Maclin hasn't taken a snap since 2012, but the Eagles wide receiver has made it known that he wants to stay in Philadelphia.

Maclin sustained a season-ending ACL tear in July, preventing him from working under first-year head coach Chip Kelly. Despite the injury the fifth-year receiver told Zach Berman of the Philadelphia inquirer that he believes there’s a precedent for teams taking a risk on a recovering player.

Philadelphia boasted one of the league's best receiving tandems from 2010-12 with Maclin and DeSean Jackson. The pair routinely combining for more than 1,500 receiving yards, becoming the staple of the team's passing attack. Maclin's injury left the Eagles searching for an answer across from Jackson, quickly finding one in the form of Riley Cooper.

Cooper’s emergence makes Maclin’s future in Philadelphia unclear. Both players are free agents, and Cooper is coming off a breakout year that saw him catch 47 passes for 835 yards and eight touchdowns. Issues at the position are compounded by Jackson, who believes he earned a contract extension for his career-high year also, making the future of the position uncertain in Philadelphia.
