Dennis Allen at odds with ownership over Raiders assistants

Dennis Allen is not seeing eye-to-eye with Raiders owner Mark Davis when it comes to the contracts of his assistants.

Raiders head coach Dennis Allen and owner Mark Davis are having trouble finding common ground on their assistant coaches' contracts, according to ESPN's Paul Gutierrez. Allen is expected to meet with Davis on Tuesday to discuss his and his staff's future with the franchise.

Allen wants to re-sign his assistants to two-year deals, but Davis only wants to offer one-year contracts, according to Gutierrez. All of the Raiders assistant coaching contracts, with the exception of offensive coordinator Greg Olson and linebackers coach Bob Sanders, are set to expire. Defensive coordinator Jason Tarver, special teams coordinator Bobby April and assistant head coach/offensive line coach Tony Sparano are among those who will be unemployed if new deals are not offered.

The Raiders have had middling success since Allen joined the franchise as head coach prior to the 2012 season. A defensive-minded coach, his squad has ranked no better than 18th in that area over the last two seasons. He still has two years remaining on his four-year contract.
