NFL Playoff picks and predictions: Saints vs. Seahawks 2014

Experts are favoring the Seattle Seahawks in the Divisional round, which is unsurprising given their home-field advantage against the New Orleans Saints.

The Seattle Seahawks will host the New Orleans Saints in the Divisional round of the NFL playoffs. The Seahawks are the top seed in the NFC and have perhaps the most intimidating home-field advantage in the NFL. Meanwhile, the Saints are the No. 6 seed and all five of their losses came on the road this year.

It would seem a mismatch and in that vein, it is. But the Saints, with quarterback Drew Brees and Sean Payton as the head coach, are built to beat any team anywhere. It hasn't quite worked out that way thus far, but Brees overcame a lot of criticism to down the Philadelphia Eagles in the Wild Card round.

That game was played in poor conditions and the Eagles were definitely game opponents. Seattle has only lost at home once this season though, and they’re definitely favored heading into this one.

But what do the experts think? Well, all six of the folks on SB Nation's panel of NFL experts are going with the Seahawks. That consists of David Fucillo, Stephen White, Jason Chilton, Joel Thorman, Ryan Van Bibber and Matt Ufford. All believe the Seahawks will win this one and advance to the NFC Championship.

Over at CBS Sports, it’s not unanimous, though there are still six people picking the Seahawks. That’s because CBS Sports goes with a panel of eight people, with the two dissenters picking the Saints being Will Brinson and John Breech. Guys like Jason La Canfora and Pete Prisco were among those picking the Seahawks.
