Colin Kaepernick will lead the San Francisco 49ers into hostile territory to take on the St. Louis Rams on primetime television for a Monday Night Football clash between division rivals going in opposite directions. While the Rams have fought admirably in the wake of losing quarterback Sam Bradford to injury, they come in losers of two straight, the last being a 34-28 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on the road.

The two NFC West rivals will clash on the NFL’s biggest regular season stage.

San Francisco has managed to ignore the noise surrounding reports of its locker room discord and string together two straight wins against the Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs. The running game behind veteran Frank Gore has seen its two best weeks as the Niners have put together totals of 218 and 171 yards on the ground.
The Rams have gotten a worthy effort from quarterback Austin Davis, who has matched Kaepernick's completion total with 97 on the season. The third-year signal caller also has six touchdown passes against just two interceptions in his last two games.
San Francisco leads the all-time series by a margin of 64-62-3, with the Niners coming out on top in both matchups last season. Still, the game figures to be a difficult test for the 49ers, who need to assert themselves in one of the most difficult divisions in the NFL.
Among players to watch is linebacker Patrick Willis, who leads the 49ers' defense against the Rams' 22nd-ranked offense.
