The New Orleans Saints are off to a rough start this season, and the Detroit Lions couldn't be happier. Despite some injury struggles throughout the year, the Lions are 4-2 and atop the NFC North. And they already hold wins over the Minnesota Vikings and the Green Bay Packers.
Saints vs. Lions 2014 picks and predictions: Detroit favored by experts
The experts are favoring the Detroit Lions to take down the New Orleans Saints in Week 7.

New Orleans, on the other hand, is 2-3 on the year, but still in second place in a relatively weak NFC South. The Saints are the one team that everyone assumes will get back to their winning ways sooner rather than later, but it hasn’t happened yet.
But they've had some extra time to prepare for the Lions thanks to a bye week, and that preparation probably didn't have a whole lot to do with wide receiver Calvin Johnson. That's because Johnson, possibly the best receiver in the NFL, is likely to miss the game with an injury. The Saints have a significant offensive injury as well, with tight end Jimmy Graham a game-time decision.
The Saints’ early season struggles have erased a lot of confidence in the team. Of the eight experts picking the game with CBS Sports, six of them went with Detroit. Only Jason La Canfora and John Breech went with the Saints. Over at ESPN, nine of the 13 experts picked the Lions. The two experts with Yahoo! Sports were split on the matchup.
SB Nation’s own experts were relatively split as well. Ryan Van Bibber, David Fucillo, Danny Kelly and Matt Ufford all picked the Lions, while Stephen White, Joel Thorman and PFT Commenter all picked the Saints. You can find SB Nation’s Week 7 picks in full here.
