Ravens vs. Colts 2014 picks and predictions: Can Indy reward bettors at home?

The Colts will face the ex-Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium on Sunday. Who do the experts see as the better team on Sunday.

Andy Lyons

The Indianapolis Colts will face the former Colts on Sunday—the Baltimore Ravens—and come into the matchup as three-point favorites at home according to OddsShark.

Thanks to Andrew Luck’s stellar play, Indianapolis is 3-1 against the spread, but 2-2 overall. Indy will look to get on track against a stingy defense that’s allowing just 15 points per game. The battle to watch will be the one between Luck and the Baltimore secondary, which has allowed 258.75 passing yards per game.

Where the Colts could find trouble is against the Ravens’ front seven, which allows just 84 yards per contest. That doesn’t bode well for Indy, which only rushes for 118 yards per outing.

Perhaps that's why the SB Nation panel of experts see the game going the Ravens' way by a 4-3 margin. The resurgence of Steve Smith has to weigh on the minds of anyone looking at this matchup. He's developed a chemistry with quarterback Joe Flacco that is among the tops in the league between quarterback-wide receiver duos. At worst, they'll test the Colts' secondary for 60 minutes.

However, SB Nation’s finest is the only panel that sees the Ravens winning.

Yahoo Sports‘ two-man crew selected the Colts to prevail by a 2-0 margin while the CBS Sports team has a 6-3 edge going Indy’s way. ESPN rounds out the aggregate look by leaning the Colts’ way, 9-5.

Perhaps the resurgence of Steve Smith and his rapport with quarterback Joe Flacco is influencing the decision-making
