As the Detroit Lions (3-1) chug along, the Buffalo Bills (2-2) are trying to regain some momentum. There was always a chance the Bills could fall into dysfunction this season but hardly anyone figured it would happen this quickly. A few weeks ago, there was talk of the Bills making the playoffs following a big Week 1 win in Chicago. Now they must regroup after benching their starting quarterback, who has been a mess. The EJ Manuel experiment finally appears to be over, now that he has been dumped in favor of Kyle Orton.

The Bills are struggling, while the Lions are looking to keep cruising.

How the Bills plan to address the position remains unclear. The team doesn't have a first-round pick next year to find a new quarterback, thanks to their trade with the Browns to secure Sammy Watkins. Fortunately, Watkins is the team's leading receiver with 197 yards and two scores, but who knows what will happen to his production with Orton at the helm.
Even as Calvin Johnson deals with injuries, the Lions are scoring and winning, which is a great sign for their future. Joique Bell has quickly established himself as the best running back on the Lions, but he's part of a formidable 1-2 punch with Reggie Bush. Matthew Stafford is going to throw for a ton of yards this season, especially with Golden Tate (317 receiving yards) proving to be an excellent complement to Johnson.
Thanks to a dominating line, the Lions’ defense has been suffocating, giving up the fewest yards per game in the league. Detroit is known for imploding late in the year, but they’ve got the early look of a contender so far.
