Denver Broncos tight end Julius Thomas is officially out Sunday against the Miami Dolphins, according to Mike Kils of the Denver Post. Thomas has an ankle injury that forced him out of practice Wednesday and Thursday, and ultimately had him questionable for Week 12. Thomas sustained the injury last week's loss to the St. Louis Rams.
Julius Thomas out vs. Dolphins
An ankle injury forced the Broncos tight end out of Week 12.

Denver's offense doesn't typically struggle to put points on the board, but once Thomas and wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders were out of the Week 11 game, the Broncos' offense looked lost. They put up just seven points on the day, the only time they've been held under 20 points this season.
Thomas is third on the team with 40 receptions for 426 yards and 12 touchdowns. His yardage number isn't through the roof, but he's still one of the best red zone threats in the NFL. He has more touchdowns than both Sanders (seven) and Demaryius Thomas (six). Backup Jacob Tamme filled in for Thomas last week, catching four passes for 31 yards. No. 2 tight end Virgil Green missed three games with a calf injury but is expected to return Sunday.
Whatever the case, Thomas was considered a game-time decision this week and should be ready for Denver's next game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
