Every Thanksgiving, the Dallas Cowboys play the gracious role of host. In recent years, the game has often lacked appeal for a variety of reasons, but this time around the schedule-makers got it right. On Thursday afternoon, Dallas hosts the Philadelphia Eagles in a battle for first place in the NFC East, with both teams currently 8-3.

The Cowboys have to be feeling good after a stirring 31-28 win on Sunday night over the New York Giants. Despite playing subpar football for most of the game, Dallas was able to rally late thanks to an offensive line that was allowing Tony Romo seven seconds to find open receivers. That front wall will be tested against Philadelphia, a team that comes in with 38 sacks, second only to the Buffalo Bills' 46.

It will be interesting to see how Philadelphia's offense performs with Mark Sanchez leading the way in a primetime spot. The last time Sanchez played on Thanksgiving, he gave us all the "Butt Fumble" as a member of the New York Jets. Sanchez has been passable since taking over for Nick Foles three games ago, tossing seven touchdowns and six interceptions.

The key to this game might be who can run the ball better. Judging from this year's stats alone, DeMarco Murray seems like the safe bet, but LeSean McCoy can't be forgotten. McCoy was a terror against the Tennessee Titans last week, gaining 130 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries. Murray has been a horse all season, leading the league with 1,354 yards on 5.1 yards per carry.
