Washington vs. Colts 2014 picks and predictions: Clean sweep for Indy

With or without RG3, Indianapolis is the heavy favorite.

At the start of the season, this Week 13 matchup between Washington and the Indianapolis Colts was supposed to showcase the quarterbacks who went No. 1 and 2 in the 2012 NFL Draft. But Robert Griffin III has been benched for poor performance, leaving only Andrew Luck to play.

Washington's quarterback situation has been one of the dominant narratives of the 2014 season. First-time head coach Jay Gruden has been heavily critical of Griffin. A week ago, Gruden said publicly Griffin "needs to worry about himself" while critiquing the quarterback's footwork and pocket poise. This week, he finally pulled the plug, choosing to start journeyman Colt McCoy in his place. In two games this season, McCoy has completed over 85 percent of his passes for 427 yards, one touchdown and an interception.

The Colts' success has come largely against the league's lesser teams. Their four losses have come against the Broncos, Eagles, Steelers and Patriots, three division leaders and one within spitting distance of a top spot. Andrew Luck is in the midst of his best season of his short career. His 29 touchdown passes are the third most in the league while his 3,641 passing yards are the most for any player this season.

The experts are all in on the Colts this week. Every member of CBS Sports’ eight-man panel sided with Luck and company.

CBS Sports senior writer Pete Prisco had this to say about the game:

The Redskins are playing consecutive road games, and it's even tougher facing a good team. But the Colts were shaky up front on offense last week in beating the Jaguars. That could be a problem with the Washington blitz. Alfred Morris should be able to run for the Redskins. But that passing game is limited. The Redskins can't keep up with Andrew Luck.

Here at SB Nation, each one of our seven experts are leaning toward the Colts.
