LeBron James to attend Johnny Manziel’s first start, per report

Manziel’s first NFL start will draw plenty attention, including from one of the most popular athletes in the world.

All eyes will be on Johnny Manziel when the Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback makes his first NFL start, including the eyes of another Cleveland superstar -- LeBron James.

The 10-time NBA All-Star is expected to be in attendance at FirstEnergy Stadium in Cleveland Sunday, according to NFL.com, watching from a suite with Manziel’s business partners and agents, Erik Burkhardt and Maverick Carter.

James, 29, has been a supporter of Manziel since the team selected the former Texas A&M quarterback in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft, and was quick to become an owner of a Manziel jersey and "Money Manziel" t-shirt. With no games this weekend for the Cleveland Cavaliers and a home game against the Charlotte Hornets Monday night, James is able to take the day to watch Manziel against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Manziel earned his first extended playing time of the season in Week 13 when he took over for Brian Hoyer in the fourth quarter against the Buffalo Bills. Facing a 20-3 deficit, Manziel immediately led the team on a scoring drive that finished with a 10-yard touchdown run by the quarterback. However, he was unable to lead the team to another score in the 23-10 loss.
