The New England Patriots are trying to lock down home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. New England won the AFC East for the sixth consecutive year last week, defeating the Miami Dolphins at Gillette Stadium. This week, the Patriots take on the New York Jets, who are coming off a rare win over the Tennessee Titans.

New England has improved its defense this season. The Patriots added Darrelle Revis and Brandon Browner to the secondary and got a healthy Vince Wilfork back from a torn Achilles. New England jumped from 26th in 2013 to 17th in total defense, with passing yards allowed per game dropping from 271.4 to 248.7. The offense still runs through Tom Brady, who is enjoying a terrific campaign, highlighted with 3,847 yards and 32 touchdowns. Rob Gronkowski is rolling once again, catching 76 passes for 1,093 yards and 11 touchdowns.
New York has no offense whatsoever. The Jets have lack stability at quarterback with the failed duo of Geno Smith and Michael Vick. Smith struggles to make consistent throws with a 57.8 completion percentage and 12 interceptions to nine touchdowns. Eric Decker was brought in to be a top receiver, but Decker only has 720 yards and four scores. New York has some players on defense. Muhammad Wilkerson and Sheldon Richardson are anchors along the line, combining for 11 sacks and 15 tackles for loss.
