The last time the Raiders and Broncos met, Peyton Manning threw for five touchdowns as his offense piled up 41 points and 471 yards against a winless team. But as the Raiders head to Mile High in the final week of the season, things are different, with the hapless Raiders showing sudden signs of life.
Raiders vs. Broncos 2014 live stream: Time, TV schedule and how to watch online
Denver is a heavy favorite at home, but don’t expect it to be as easy as it was in Week 10.
After an 0-10 start, Oakland has won three of its last five games, all against teams that were, at the time, competing for the playoffs. The same defense that Denver manhandled allowed an average of 19 points in those three wins. Running back Latavius Murray, who returned from a concussion two weeks ago, has provided a much-needed spark for the offense and rookie quarterback Derek Carr has thrown six touchdowns and no picks in his last three games.
Manning, meanwhile, has looked mortal of late, averaging just 231 yards per game over his last five and throwing four picks in a loss to the Bengals on Monday.
The Broncos are still heavy favorites to win, especially since it’s in Denver. Manning’s dip in yardage has coincided with a rejuvenated run game averaging just shy of 150 yards over the last five games. The defense has been even better, ranking No. 3 in total yards and No. 2 in rushing yards allowed this season. The Broncos also have more to play for as they’ll be trying to lock down the AFC’s No. 2 seed and a first-round bye.
