The Dallas Cowboys travel to Washington on Sunday for the regular-season finale, attempting to finish the campaign with a 12-4 mark. Dallas has not been to the playoffs since 2009 but punched its ticket last week with a resounding 42-7 thumping of the Indianapolis Colts. With the NFC East locked up, the Cowboys might still play starters with the hope of earning a first-round bye.

Dallas locked up the NFC East last week and will look for revenge against Washington after dropping the previous matchup.
In the first matchup between these two teams, Washington pulled off a major upset at AT&T Stadium with a 20-17 overtime victory. Colt McCoy was sublime in his first start in burgundy, throwing for 299 yards on 25-of-30 passing. In that contest, Tony Romo was knocked out with two back fractures before returning a few drives later.
Dallas has been known as a pass-heavy team for years, but 2014 has brought balance to head coach Jason Garrett's attack. Garrett has let DeMarco Murray take control behind the best offensive line in football, featuring three first-round picks.
Murray has responded, leading the NFL in rushing yards with 1,745 on a league-high 373 carries. Should Murray get 27 carries against Washington, he will become the first player with 400 attempts since Larry Johnson did so for the Kansas City Chiefs in 2006.
Washington is 4-11 and riding out the end of a disastrous season. Under first-year coach Jon Gruden, Washington has started three different quarterbacks and undergone a bevy of controversy involving Robert Griffin’s play and comments to media members.
The team has fallen on hard times recently after winning the NFC East in 2012 during Griffin’s rookie campaign. With Gruden, the offense ranks 12th in passing but checks in 20th in rushing despite having Alfred Morris. Morris has amassed 1,031 yards, notching a third straight 1,000-yard campaign to begin his career.
