Washington's football team is an absolute mess. After going 3-13 last year, Washington is 3-9 this year and Robert Griffin III has been benched once again. Last year, Kirk Cousins took over, this time it's Colt McCoy, and owner Dan Snyder is not sure what is going on.
Dan Snyder ‘confused’ about RG3’s regression
Washington’s owner is not quite sure what is going on with Robert Griffin III.

Snyder, who is one of the most hands-on owners in the NFL, is stunned by Griffin’s regression from potential superstar to backup signal-caller, per Chris Mortensen of ESPN. With Griffin riding the pine once again after being verbally undressed by head coach Jay Gruden in the media, it appears Griffin’s time in the nation’s capital might be coming to a close.
If it is, the trade engineered by Washington to draft Griffin is one of the all-time disasters in NFL history. In 2012, Washington dealt the St. Louis Rams two first-round picks, swapped another and traded a second-round pick to move into the second-overall slot for the Heisman Trophy winner. Things worked out in his rookie year, when Griffin brought home an NFC East title. Since then, Washington has once again become a train wreck of controversy and losing.
Woes in Washington
This season, Griffin played in five games, throwing two touchdowns and three interceptions. Washington went 1-4 in those contests.
Gruden said he would be willing to make some changes this offseason in an attempt to stabilize the quarterback situation:
Jay Gruden said he'd consider adding a QB coach in offseason. Keep in mind,he works closely with QB as does Sean McVay
