Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice allegedly hit his fiancée, Janay Palmer, and knocked her unconscious at the Revel Casino in Atlantic City, according to the official New Jersey police report. Recently released video also shows Rice moving Palmer out of an elevator at the hotel after he had allegedly knocked her out.
Ray Rice allegedly knocked fiancée out, per police summons
The Ravens star running back was arrested late last week and, according to the police report, was responsible for knocking out fiancée Janay Palmer.
Rice and Palmer were both arrested late last week and charged with simple assault-domestic violence. Baltimore general manager Ozzie Newsome said on Monday that the team still has Rice as a big part of its plans for 2014, though it’s still possible that could change as more information is released or if the league finds that Rice violated the conduct policy.
Commissioner Roger Goodell will likely review the case, and can make his own determination whether to suspend a player, even if he isn’t officially charged with any crimes. It’s possible that the report or video alone would be enough for Goodell to rule that Rice was in violation of the player conduct policy.
