Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald will remain with the team for the 2014 NFL season, thanks to the fact that he restructured his deal on Tuesday. Fitzgerald had a scheduled cap hit of $18 million for 2014, a number that was prohibitive to a healthy offseason for the Cardinals. They have free agents to re-sign and holes to fill, so Fitzgerald was either going to get the extension or his walking papers. His current contract runs through 2018.
NFL roundup: Larry Fitzgerald restructures, Demaryius Thomas played through injury and more
Arizona Cardinals receiver Larry Fitzgerald restructured his contract to stick with the team in 2014, Demaryius Thomas played through injury during the Super Bowl and more you might have missed from Tuesday in the NFL.

Here’s what else you might have missed on Tuesday:
Denver Broncos wide receiver Demaryius Thomas broke the Super Bowl record for receptions on Sunday, and he did it while injured. Thomas apparently sustained a separated shoulder in the first quarter. It could have happened when he was hit particularly hard by Seattle Seahawks safety Kam Chancellor. It's not much of a consolation, but Thomas' ability to play at that level through that injury is impressive.
The Broncos will begin and carry out their offseason plans with the presumption that quarterback Peyton Manning will play at least another season. Many have speculated that Manning could call it a career at this point, and nobody would blame him. Despite losing this year's Super Bowl, he's already got a ring to his name and holds multiple passing records. Still, the Broncos expect him back in 2014, for what it's worth.
San Francisco 49ers linebacker NaVorro Bowman had surgery on Tuesday to repair the ACL he tore in his left knee. Bowman sustained the injury during the NFC Championship against the Seahawks. On the play, Bowman was recovering a fumble and went to the ground, clearly in pain. He also clearly secured the fumble despite the injury, but wasn't credited with it. Either way, Bowman will be targeting a return near the beginning of next season, though whether or not he'll be 100 percent is anyone's guess.
Former Green Bay Packers defensive back Nick Collins doesn't want to give up on his NFL career. Collins posted on his Twitter account that he is ready to dominate in 2014, though at this point, it's unlikely that any team has showed interest. His NFL career came to an end in the 2011 season, when he suffered a herniated disc that pressed up against his spinal cord. He underwent surgery and was released in 2012 when he struggled to earn doctor's clearance.
The Detroit Lions are set to begin contract talks with defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh. The team is just waiting on Suh to sign a new agent. Suh is entering the final year of a contract he signed as a rookie, which happened before the new collective bargaining agreement. That means his 2014 cap hit is set at $22.4 million, and the Lions would definitely like to eliminate some of that while getting Suh inked to a long-term deal.
