2014 NFL schedule: Regular season release planned for Wednesday in prime time

We finally have confirmation that the NFL will release the full schedule for the 2014-15 season Wednesday, April 23.

The NFL has announced that they will make an announcement Wednesday. Fortunately, that announcement is the one we’ve been waiting for: the official schedule release of the 2014-15 regular season. The NFL Network announced Tuesday that the schedule will be revealed at 8 p.m. ET on the network and NFL.com.

Latest Mock Draft

We've been doing this dance for weeks now, wondering when the schedule would be announced. Typically, the announcement has come shortly before the NFL Draft, but with the draft pushed back to May this year, it has been unclear when, exactly, the schedule would come. The NFL has turned the schedule release into a prime time event in recent years, drawing out the reveal for as long as possible (and now the draft has a couple extra weeks of "hype" as well).

Whatever the league has been doing, it has worked. Even with playoffs ongoing in two different sports, seemingly nothing gets Twitter going crazier than rumors of an upcoming schedule release. To this point, we already know which teams will play and where, but we don’t know how the schedule will look on a week-to-week basis. All will be revealed Wednesday.
