NFL Draft results 2014: Carl Bradford taken by Packers

The Packers add a nice OLB for their 3-4 base.

The Green Bay Packers have drafted Arizona State outside linebacker Carl Bradford with the 121st pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. Bradford came in at No. 134 among prospects ranked on SB Nation's top 200 big board and No. 9 out of all players at his position.

Bradford was named a second-team All-PAC-12 selection in 2013 and was an honorable mention for the conference team in 2012. He finished the 2013 season with 61 tackles, 19.0 of which were tackles for loss, and 8.5 sacks. Those numbers were actually down from his sophomore year in 2012, in which he had 81 tackles, 20.5 tackles for loss and 11.5 sacks.

Another year in college might have actually done Bradford some good, but he has some good film to go on regardless. He’s very versatile, and can play multiple linebacker positions at the next level if need be. He doesn’t seem to have the build to be an effective pass rusher in the NFL, however, so it will be interesting to see how he’s used.
