2014 NFL Draft: Time and TV schedule for Thursday’s Round 1
The NFL Draft is here, and you’ve got a couple options for watching on TV.
The 2014 NFL Draft is finally upon us, after a long couple of months that included an extra two weeks of waiting (that increasingly sounds like it may be the norm going forward). But on Thursday night in prime time, the first round will officially get underway with the first pick from the Houston Texans, running up to the final pick by the Seattle Seahawks.
It should be an exciting first round, especially given the seemingly deep class of quarterbacks this year. It’s a position that has been shallow for the last several years, but we could easily see a run on quarterbacks this time around with the number of top options there.

Whatever happens, we know there will be 30 attendees at Radio City Music Hall in New York on Thursday, and a safe bet is that a good number of them will still be there on Friday for the next rounds. Yet, the list includes a ton of sure-fire first-round picks, such as defensive end Jadeveon Clowney and wide receiver Sammy Watkins.
The draft will begin at 8 p.m. ET, and it will be broadcast on ESPN and the NFL Network. Television coverage should already be underway on the NFL Network and you can count on ESPN to have a ton of pre-draft coverage as well. The second and third rounds will begin at 7 p.m. on Friday, and rounds four through seven will start at 12 p.m. on Saturday.
