Xavier Su’a-Filo is headed to the Texans with the No. 33 overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. He is the first interior offensive lineman selected thus far.

Su'a-Filo was the No. 14 prospect on SB Nation's top 200 big board, which placed him first among all interior linemen. He was notably ahead of players like Gabe Jackson of Mississippi State and Brandon Thomas of Clemson, as well as Zack Martin of Notre Dame.
Su’a-Filo was an All-Pac-12 First-Team selection in both 2012 and 2013 with the Bruins. He had an interesting career given that he started 13 games as a freshman before taking off two years to go on a Mormon mission. He returned in 2013 and started every game.

Su’a-Filo’s movement skills set him apart from other guards in this class. Not only did he have the athleticism to hold the edge at left tackle, but when he played guard, Su’a-Filo got to the next level with smooth, controlled movement. He has a lot of balance to his game and that helps him move efficiently across the line of scrimmage and within the second level of the defense. He has really quick feet and is able to move off his block in a hurry.

Su’a-Filo is considered one of the most complete offensive linemen in this draft, and was frequently mocked in the first round. He’s got solid quickness, a strong build and should be able to play either guard position at the next level, though he’d fit best in the more premium left spot.
