SB Nation 2014 NFL Draft

The San Diego Chargers have drafted Georgia Tech outside linebacker Jeremiah Attaochu with the No. 50 overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. Attaochu ranked No. 54 among prospects on SB Nation's top 200 big board. That made him the fifth-ranked outside linebacker overall, behind Khalil Mack, Anthony Barr, Ryan Shazier and Kyle Van Noy.

The Chargers traded up to this spot by giving the Miami Dolphins a fourth-round pick this year. They moved up seven spots to draft .

Attaochu was a third-team AP All-American in 2013, and second-team All-ACC in 2013. In addition, he was an honorable mention for All-ACC honors in 2011 and 2012. He finished his four-year college career with 31.5 sacks, becoming Georgia Tech's all-time leader in sacks in the process. He also added 43.5 tackles for loss and 196 total tackles.

Attaochu had a partially torn hamstring and could not participate in any testing at the NFL Scouting Combine. However, he was sufficiently recovered for Georgia Tech's pro day, and impressed scouts in those workouts. Attaochu put up a 4.58 40-yard dash, a 37.5-inch vertical jump, 7.28 seconds in the 3-cone drill and a 4.64 in the 20-yard shuttle.
