Vince Young has announced that he is "moving forward and moving on" from the NFL after a six-year professional career, according to KXAN.

Then again, considering the context of the quotes, the quarterback definitely left the door open for a return if a team was going to give him a guaranteed deal. Speaking from his football camp in Round Rock, Texas, Young spoke with finality about his NFL future.
“It’s definitely official I think in my book,” Young said. “Unless we get a great opportunity, something guaranteed…other than that I’ve started moving forward in some things. “I love the NFL, will love the game always but I’m kind of moving forward and moving on right now.”
Young has not played in the NFL since 2011, so the news that he might move on from the league is funny considering the league has moved on from Young. The former Texas Longhorns star has remained in the NFL with the Buffalo Bills in 2012 and the Green Bay Packers in 2013, but he didn't play a single game in that time.
Young was the No. 3 overall selection in the 2006 NFL Draft by the Tennessee Titans. He owns a solid 31-19 record as a starter, but his own stat line was never very impressive. He never threw for more than 12 touchdowns in a single season, and only had two seasons in which he threw more touchdowns than interceptions. Combined with a low 57.9 completion percentage for his career, it's not hard to see why Young had a hard time catching on at this point in his career, despite the gaudy W-L record.
Young said that he hopes to catch on with the Longhorns as an ambassador for the school. “The details,” he told Carney, “are being worked out.”
