Johnny Manziel had a bad day at Cleveland Browns training camp on Tuesday, throwing three picks during various drills.
Johnny Manziel struggles during OTAs, throws 3 picks on Tuesday
When an average rookie quarterback struggles during OTAs, it’s just part of the process. Johnny football is not an average rookie quarterback.

#Browns QB Johnny Manziel off to rough start today. Picked off by Robert Nelson in WR vs. DB drill. Then picked off by Whitner in 11-on-11.
— Nate Ulrich (@NateUlrichABJ) June 3, 2014 Under normal circumstances, a rookie quarterback having difficulty before training camp is the expectation, but Manziel has the weight of a storied, yet battered franchise on his shoulders. His every move is scrutinized because of the dynamic skill set he brings to the table and celebrity status.
It got worse before it got any better for the Heisman Trophy winner when he tossed a third pick to Pro Bowl cornerback Joe Haden, who took it back for a pick-six during 11-on-11 on a sideline route.
But it did get better. He managed to complete a 45-yard pass on a corner route to Anthony Armstrong for a touchdown and threw another 30-yard strike to Jordan Cameron
He shouldn’t feel bad about being victimized by Haden, however -- that’s happened to the best signal-callers in the league over the past four years.
