Robert Griffin III and Johnny Manziel will see each other on Monday when the Cleveland Browns and Washington NFL team meet for a preseason matchup, but the two have already talked. One thing that was discussed: offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan and his playbook, according to the Washington Post.
RG3 gave Johnny Manziel some pointers about Kyle Shanahan’s offense
Robert Griffin III knows a thing or two about Kyle Shanahan, and he shared some of that knowledge with Johnny Manziel.

Manziel said that he talked to Griffin over the summer and the two discussed Shanahan’s offense, “talking about the reads, going through the offense, some stuff.”
Manziel noted that Griffin spent two years with Shanahan in Washington. They also discussed how Shanahan was “through the year, game-planning, getting ready for the games and kind of the things he liked and disliked.”
He said that there are some plays that are staples of Shanahan’s offense that he got to ask Griffin about as well. The rookie didn’t offer any specifics beyond that, but it’s an interesting note nonetheless. Griffin’s time with Washington while Shnahan was there was obviously mired in controversy thanks to Shanahan’s dad, Mike. But Griffin did earn the Offensive Rookie of the Year award in 2012. Over two seasons in Shanahan’s offense he compiled 6,403 yards, 36 touchdowns and 17 interceptions.
Manziel obviously has a long way to go before he can compete with Griffin, but he is a mobile quarterback and would be able to run a lot of the plays that Griffin ran under Shanahan. Either way, the two won't share the field at the same time, and Griffin will likely be out of the game before Manziel even comes in, as Brian Hoyer is going to start that game.
