The New Orleans Saints will take their high-octane offense to the Midwest to take on the Indianapolis Colts in Week 3 of the preseason on Saturday night during prime time.
Saints vs. Colts 2014: How to watch online, TV schedule, radio and more
Last time these two teams met, it was a lopsided affair in a game that mattered. This time around in Week 3 of the preseason, there may still be some significant implications in the exhibition.

The last time these two teams met on Oct. 23, 2011, the Saints dismantled the Colts in the Bayou with a record-setting 62-7 victory in which Drew Brees threw for 325 yards and five touchdown passes. This time around, Andrew Luck and the new-look Colts offense are better-equipped to keep up with New Orleans.
More on the matchup: The Colts should contend for an AFC South division title after making the playoffs and coming from behind to best the Kansas City Chiefs in the postseason. Luck will look to build on his strong second year and keep the momentum heading in the right direction.
The Tim Tebow Chronicles
With familiar faces like T.Y. Hilton, Reggie Wayne and Coby Fleener hauling in passes, Luck already has plenty of reliable targets in house. However, the Colts went out and added even more with wide receivers like Hakeem Nicks and rookie Donte Moncrief. Given the presence of fellow wideouts Da'Rick Rogers and Griff Whalen, the depth is going to make things difficult for the coaching staff when it comes to final roster cuts on Aug. 30.
New Orleans' offense should continue to be a force in 2014. Just a year ago, the Saints put up 307.4 yards per game while Brees threw for 5,162 yards and 39 touchdowns. The real story for the Saints in this game will come on the defensive side, where safety Jairus Byrd practiced for the first time without limitations on Tuesday. He's expected to play against Indianapolis, and how much work he gets at game speed will be a development worth watching.
For both teams, the third preseason game means the starters will likely get more reps than in any of the other three games. Given that both teams figure to be in the mix come playoff time, it could be a strong indicator of where each is in terms of preparedness to compete among the league’s best come the regular season.
