The Vikings receiver will be suspended for the second time in three seasons.

The Minnesota Vikings will be without wide receiver Jerome Simpson for the first three games of the upcoming season due to suspension, per Adam Schefter.
Vikings WR Jerome Simpson is being suspended 3 games, per a league source.
— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) August 29, 2014 Simpson was charged with DUI and refusing to take a sobriety test on Nov. 9, 2013, but reached a plea deal to have the charges reduced to careless driving and refusing to submit a chemical test in January. The NFL had originally given out a three-game suspension, but Simpson appealed it due to the DUI charge being dropped. After a recent hearing, the NFL upheld the initial suspension.
This is Simpson’s second suspension in the last three seasons, which likely played into the decision on his appeal. Simpson missed three games in 2012 for attempting to mail himself 2 pounds of marijuana. He was also found with another 6 pounds of marijuana at home. Simpson served 15 days in jail.
Simpson had 48 catches last year for the Vikings for a career-high 726 receiving yards. He also had one touchdown.
