Indianapolis Colts center Khaled Holmes made it just a few plays in the preseason before suffering an injury that sent him limping off the field. The projected starter for the Colts at center was rolled up on from behind and quickly left the game, eventually going to the locker room with trainers at his side.

The starting center for the Indianapolis Colts limped off the field early in the team’s preseason game on Thursday.

Any significant injury for Holmes wouldn't be good news at all for a team that is already thin on the interior offensive line. Left guard Donald Thomas, who was a free agent acquisition for the team in 2013, recently suffered a torn quadriceps muscle in practice and will miss the entire 2014 season.
Next on the depth chart at center for the Colts is Jonotthan Harrison, an undrafted rookie who signed with the team shortly after the 2014 NFL Draft. Harrison played collegiately with the Florida Gators where he started 39 games. Harrison's immediate contributions as a replacement didn't go smoothly:
Holmes, 24, was a fourth-round selection of the Colts in the 2013 NFL Draft and appeared in only four games for the team as a rookie, not making any starts.
