— Josh Wilson (@Coltsfanwilson) August 8, 2014 At the time of his release, the Colts issued a vague statement about a violation of team rules that occurred, although they chose not to go into further details. Rainey went ahead and offered those details for them on Thursday night.
Dan "Boom" Herron, the target of Rainey's tweets, had a solid first half of play on Thursday night, accumulating 26 yards rushing on seven carries and 36 yards on six receptions, including a 12-yard touchdown reception from Matt Hasselbeck.
Rainey, a fifth-round pick of the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 2012 NFL Draft, was released shortly following his rookie season after he was arrested and charged with battery. He is currently a free agent.
