The NFL Players Association has scheduled a vote involving its 32 player representatives for Friday afternoon on a potential new drug policy, according to NFL.com insider Ian Rapoport.
NFLPA to vote on new drug policy Friday, per report
The vote could affect the most high-profile case of the offseason, the full season suspension of wideout Josh Gordon.

Among the most prevalent issues up for discussion during the vote is the reinstatement of players punished for certain failed drug tests at the start of the 2014 season, according to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports. In addition, league sources have said multiple breakthroughs on major issues are in progress. The league policies on HGH testing and DUI cases are two such points of contention.
Most notably, the high-profile drug case involving Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon may be affected by the vote if the league decides to address it in the new policy. The 2013 NFL receiving leader could escape a season-long suspension with a grandfather clause, despite the case's occurrence in the 2013 league year that ended March 11, 2014.
It’s unknown whether Gordon’s suspension would be reduced from a full season to eight games, if at all.
