If the National Football League and NFL Players Association can reach agreement on a new drug policy, Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon will have his season-long suspension cut to just eight games, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Josh Gordon’s suspension could be reduced, per report
The Browns could see Gordon for half of the season if Adam Schefter’s report is right.

Gordon was suspended for having elevated THC levels, caused by marijuana. However, under the new guidelines, Gordon’s test levels would not have triggered a positive test.
Gordon is not the only player benefiting from the new policy. Denver Broncos receiver Wes Welker, Miami Dolphins linebacker Dion Jordan and Dallas Cowboys corner Orlando Scandrick could all benefit as well, per Ian Rapoport.
Scandrick was originally suspended four games for a positive test of Molly. Under the old system, Molly was considered a performance-enhancing drug, but a new drug policy would make it a violation of the substance abuse policy. That would place Scandrick in the league’s program but not making causing him a suspension. Welker reportedly tested positive for Adderall, putting him in the same boat as Scandrick.
Jordan tested positive for amphetamines, along with teammate Reshad Jones. Both are candidates to see vacated suspensions, per the Miami Sun-Sentinel.
