Brandon Marshall injury: Bears WR returns after leaving game with right ankle injury

Bears wide receiver Brandon Marshall left the game Monday night with an injury to his right ankle, which has been giving him problems all season. He returned after halftime.

Ed Szczepanski-USA TODAY Sports

Brandon Marshall left the Chicago Bears' game against the New York Jets Monday night with a right ankle injury. The wide receiver was throwing a block in the second quarter when he appeared to suffer the injury while falling. Marshall would return at the start of the third quarter.

Though in obvious pain, Marshall was able to limp off the field and walk to the locker room under his own power. His return was originally listed as probable, but was quickly updated to questionable before halftime. Before he left, Marshall had no catches on three targets. He didn’t appear to be limited at all physically on the field up to the point of suffering the injury.

Marshall has already been dealing with his right ankle this season, and it nearly kept him out of Chicago's Week 2 game against the 49ers. He wasn't cleared to play until 90 minutes before that game, though he ended up catching three touchdown passes in the Bears' win over San Francisco.
