The Indianapolis Colts (1-2) sent a message to the rest of the league that they are playoff contenders despite an 0-2 start, routing Jacksonville 44-17 last week. They'll try to reach .500 with a win at home against a Tennessee Titans (1-2) team that has lost its last two games by a combined score of 59-17.

Andrew Luck is coming off a career performance against the Jaguars, completing 31 of 39 passes for 379 yards and four touchdowns with no interceptions. The only other Colts quarterback to put up those numbers in a game was Johnny Unitas in 1967. Luck was perfect when targeting his receivers downfield, going 6 for 6 on passes of at least 20 yards.

The Titans lost in a blowout to the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 3, despite owning statistical advantages in total yards (326 to 300), rushing yards (149 to 116) and time of possession (31:16 to 28:44). Costly penalties and poor quarterback play doomed the Titans, who trailed 33-0 before a late fourth-quarter touchdown run by Shonn Greene.

Nuts and Bolts

The biggest concern heading into this game for the Titans is the status of Jake Locker, who suffered a wrist strain in Sunday's loss to the Bills. An MRI on Monday revealed no structural damage, but Locker was sore during the week and the team will wait to see how he responds to treatment before ruling him out in Week 4. Backup Charlie Whitehurst, who hasn't thrown a pass in the NFL since 2011, would start if Locker's condition doesn't improve.

If any team has a chance to slow down Luck and the Colts offense, it might be the Titans, who boast one of the league’s top pass defenses this season. Tennessee has allowed the second-fewest pass yards through the first three weeks and ranks fifth in opponent total QBR. Luck is 4-0 in his career against the Titans, but has completed less than 60 percent of his passes and has been sacked 12 times in those four games.
