Ndamukong Suh is playing in his final year with the Detroit Lions, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. Suh is set to become a free agent at the conclusion of this season and Schefter reports that both sides are preparing for a split.
Ndamukong Suh will not re-sign with the Lions, per report
The Lions are prepared to let Ndamukong Suh walk via free agency.

Schefter stated on ESPN's Sunday NFL Countdown that Suh has expressed interest in the past in signing with one of the New York teams in hopes of improving his brand away from the playing field. It was not specified whether the defensive tackle had any preference between the Giants or the Jets, as Schefter said both clubs would be equally enticing.
In addition, Schefter stated that the Chicago Bears and Dallas Cowboys would be potential suitors for Suh's services in the event that he becomes a free agent at the conclusion of the year.
The Lions could use the franchise tag to keep the second overall pick from the 2010 NFL Draft in Detroit. That would be a particularly costly option since Suh would carry a tag value of $26 million, fully guaranteed, for the 2015 season. Suh has 28.5 sacks in 65 games with the Lions since his rookie year.
Suh is in the final year of a five-year, $64.5 million contract and will be an unrestricted free agent when the league year rolls over in the spring.
