Charlie Whitehurst to start for Titans vs. Colts
With Titans starting quarterback Jake Locker out with a wrist injury, Charlie Whitehust will start his first game since 2011.

Whitehurst, or “Clipboard Jesus” as he’s come to be known by fans, is a nine-year veteran who has made incredible amounts of money despite playing very little. When he does, the results usually aren’t pretty. In 13 games played, the former Clemson signal caller has completed just 54.2 percent of his passes while throwing more interceptions than touchdowns. Regardless, teams continue to fork over cash to Whitehurst such as the two-year, $4.25 million contract he signed this offseason.
Before arriving in Tennessee, Whitehurst played with the San Diego Chargers and Seattle Seahawks. The latter represents one of the few missteps for Seattle in recent memory. Despite the reputation of GM John Schneider and head coach Pete Carroll as top shelf talent evaluators, the Seahawks traded a third-round pick and swapped a second rounders with the Chargers for two years of Whitehurst stalking the sidelines.
