San Francisco is looking to start strong against a terrible Cowboys defense, while Dallas wants to take advantage of a 49ers defense that has experienced losses of its own.

Even with some losses on the defensive side of the ball - through free agency, injuries and suspensions - the 49ers are still very dangerous, especially offensively. Colin Kaepernick will be leading his team against one of the worst defenses in the league, and many are intrigued to see how the backfield chemistry develops between Frank Gore and rookie Carlos Hyde.
The Cowboys want to be competitive this season, but Tony Romo will have his work cut out for him pretty much every game. And while Dallas can score often, Romo & Co. will likely be playing from behind quite a bit. Still, Dez Bryant and DeMarco Murray, when healthy, are huge offensive weapons and the Cowboys could be poised to take advantage of a depleted San Francisco defense while at home.
In their last 11 games as road favorites, the 49ers are 9-1-1 ATS, while the Cowboys are just 1-7 SU in their past eight games as home underdogs. But they’ve paid off during Week 1 recently, going 6-1 ATS in their last seven openers (San Francisco is 8-2-1 ATS in their last 11 openers as well).
