Super Bowl XLIX is rapidly approaching, and one of the best things about the big game is the betting that accompanies it. The New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks will fight at the University of Phoenix Stadium at Glendale, Ariz. Sunday, and the games within the game will be highly entertaining.
2015 Super Bowl prop bets: Tom Brady favored to win MVP
There are a million prop bets, including who will win the MVP and which player scores first.

In this contest, there are a bevy of players to keep tabs on. Tom Brady and Russell Wilson are two of the more celebrated quarterbacks in the league, despite employing completely different styles. With the Seahawks, there is always the defensive component most teams don’t bring to the table. When talking about who might win the MVP award, you need to factor in the Legion of Boom and others, as proven last year when Malcolm Smith won the honor. The Patriots have no shortage of candidates themselves, with Rob Gronkowski, LeGarrette Blount and Darrelle Revis all legitimate candidates.
Here are some prop bets to keep your eye on, per Bovada:
Odds to win MVP (Tom Brady 9/5, Russell Wilson 7/2, Marshawn Lynch 5/1)
Brady has won the MVP award twice before and has the best odds once again. Considering how much more the Patriots throw than the Seahawks, it makes sense Brady would get higher odds than Wilson. Wilson is also coming off a terrible NFC Championship game, where he threw four interceptions. Some of the interesting longshots include Rob Gronkowski at 9/1, Earl Thomas at 40/1 and Brandon LaFell at 66/1.
What will Tom Brady throw first (TD -190, INT +155)
Brady enjoyed another terrific season in 2014, throwing for 33 touchdowns and only nine interceptions. Seattle has the preeminent secondary in football however, with Richard Sherman, Kam Chancellor, Byron Maxwell and Earl Thomas. Brady has been picked off in both AFC playoff games this year against sub-par secondaries in the Baltimore Ravens and Indianapolis Colts.
Marshawn Lynch rushing yards (O/U 89.5)
Lynch is the engine that makes Seattle's offense go. This season, Lynch rushed for 1,306 yards in the regular season, averaging 81.6 yards per game. Lynch lived up to his name of Beast Mode in the NFC title game, gaining 157 yards on the ground in a 28-22 win over the Green Bay Packers. Lynch has not faced New England since 2012, when he rushed for 41 yards on 15 attempts.
Doug Baldwin receiving yards (O/U 54.5)
Baldwin is constantly scoffing at the notion claiming he and the other Seahawks receivers are mediocre. On Sunday, he will get a chance to show the world he's right. Baldwin led Seattle with 825 receiving yards this year, but only six times went over 54 yards during the regular season. Baldwin was shut down by the Carolina Panthers in the playoffs with 38 yards, but rebounded with 106 against the Packers.
Will Rob Gronkowski eclipse 100 receiving yards (Yes +190, No -230)
Gronkowski might be the toughest cover in football. The job will go to Chancellor and middle linebacker Bobby Wagner Sunday. Gronkowski racked up 1,124 yards and 12 touchdowns this year, but broke the century mark just three times. He did have a great game against Baltimore in the Divisional round, going for 108 yards and a score.
