NFL picks and predictions, Jaguars vs. Colts 2015: Indianapolis huge favorite in AFC South matchup

Despite dealing with a shoulder injury, Andrew Luck’s strong finish against the Titans should be enough against the banged-up Jaguars.

Indianapolis Colts coach Chuck Pagano said this week that he has "supreme confidence" that Andrew Luck will play this Sunday despite the quarterback dealing with a shoulder injury. That means the Jacksonville Jaguars are going to have to try to find some healthy defensive backs to stop him when they visit the Colts. The Jaguars lost three defensive backs to injury in last weekend's 51-17 destruction by Tom Brady and the New England Patriots, and they were already missing two going into the game.

Luck had been terrible through the first two games of the season and the first three quarters of Week 3, but he finally put things together well enough to lead the Colts to an impressive come-from-behind victory against the Tennessee Titans.

That's a bad sign for a team that barely put up a fight last week as Brady threw for 358 yards and two touchdowns, and doesn't know who will be healthy enough to play against Indianapolis this weekend. Safeties Josh Evans (knee) and Sergio Brown (calf) both went down against New England, as did cornerback Davon House (ankle). That's on top of Johnathan Cyrprien (calf) and Dwayne Gratz (ankle), who were already hurt.

Some or all of those five might be able to go Sunday against the Colts, but it will be hard for defensive coordinator Bob Babich to come up with a game plan when he has no idea who will be playing which position. The Jaguars also know they aren't likely to win a shootout. Blake Bortles has only thrown five touchdown passes against three interceptions, and T.J. Yeldon is averaging just 3.2 yards as the featured back.

Unsurprisingly, the home team is a big favorite to continue its domination over AFC South competition. All eight experts at CBS are picking the Colts, while at SB Nation Headquarters, only the eccentric PFT Commenter kept our panel from also having an 8-0 sweep.
