49ers vs. Giants 2015 picks and predictions: New York favored to keep winning

The Giants are unanimous choices to beat the slumping 49ers

Remember Week 1? The San Francisco 49ers shut down Teddy Bridgewater, Adrian Peterson and the Minnesota Vikings, while Carlos Hyde ran wild in a 20-3 victory, while the New York Giants handed the Dallas Cowboys a victory.

Things have certainly changed in the last month. San Francisco has completely collapsed, while the Giants have rallied to improve their record to 2-2 and are overwhelming favorites to move above .500 Sunday night on NBC.

The 49ers have been outscored 107-28 in losses to Pittsburgh, Arizona and Green Bay, as both Colin Kaepernick and the San Francisco pass defense have regressed badly. Kaepernick has only two touchdowns as opposed to five interceptions, and has been sacked 14 times, while opposing quarterbacks have thrown for six scores and only been picked off twice. Hyde has also struggled, averaging only 38 yards at 3.2 a carry in the last three games, which has allowed teams to force Kaepernick into more high-pressure passing downs.

Meanwhile, after the last-second loss to Dallas and a four-point defeat by the red-hot Falcons, the Giants have won their last two games by a combined score of 56-31. The defense forced five turnovers in the two wins, while the offense has only lost the ball twice in four weeks.

With one of the best run defenses in the league, the Giants should be able to slow down Hyde, and Kaepernick's struggles should help a mediocre New York pass defense. On the other side of the ball, Eli Manning should be able to pick apart San Francisco, especially if Odell Beckham (knee) plays.

It shouldn’t be a surprise that all eight panelists at CBS are picking the Giants, and things are no different at SB Nation World HQ, where it is another 8-0 sweep for New York.
