The Tennessee Titans haven't won a game since beating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 1, when Marcus Mariota outdueled Jameis Winston in both of their NFL debuts. This week, they have the dubious distinction of running into an Atlanta Falcons team that has had 10 days to stew over their upset loss to the New Orleans Saints.
Falcons vs. Titans 2015 picks and predictions: Atlanta expected to roll
The Titans have lost four straight and now face a rested and angry Falcons.
The Titans struggle from not having any part of the team that can serve as an anchor. Mariota hasn't been bad, but the offensive line can't protect him, and now he's trying to play through an MCL sprain. If he can't play, Zach Mettenberger isn't going to frighten Atlanta. Tennessee also hasn't found a steady No. 1 runner, which a problem against one of the best rushing defenses in the NFL.
On the other side of the ball, Atlanta does not lack for offensive weapons. Devonta Freeman has seemingly come out of nowhere to become one of the league's most productive backs. He has 801 yards of total offense and 10 touchdowns despite only having been the starters for the last four weeks, and his ability to both run and catch has opened up all kinds of space for Matt Ryan. Julio Jones, Leonard Hankerson and Roddy White have given Ryan three downfield targets, meaning that he won't lose too much if Jones is still hampered by his hamstring problem.
The game is being played in Nashville, but that might be the only reason that Titans fans have to feel optimistic. The experts don’t give them much of a chance, with all eight members of the CBS Sports panel picking the Falcons. Here at SB Nation, all of the experts but one are going the same way.
