The Seattle Seahawks notched their first win against the Chicago Bears last week. They hope to go for two in a row Monday night against another NFC North squad, the visiting Detroit Lions.

On Monday, Seattle plays its third consecutive game against an NFC North opponent.
The Seahawks haven't looked much like the juggernaut that ravaged the NFC over the last two seasons. In particular, the offensive line hasn't opened up many holes in the running game, and Marshawn Lynch is currently battling a troublesome hamstring and could be a game-time decision. Things look a little more promising on defense, but even with safety Kam Chancellor back in the mix, the unit doesn't performed at the historic levels of previous years.
But while the Seahawks have come out of the gate slow, they’re still having an easier time than the Lions. Last season, Detroit was 11-5, but now the team looks like it’s headed for an early offseason after an 0-3 start. Things won’t get any easier at CenturyLink Field, one of the toughest venues in the NFL.
Even though the Lions’ defense hasn’t been as fearsome as the one that finished last season ranked second in the league, it’s offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi who has come under fire for his “predictable” play calling. Through three weeks, the Lions have averaged just 18.7 points per game, tied for 23rd in the NFL.
That figure looks even more damning considering how much talent the team possesses on offense: Matthew Stafford, for all his struggles the last two years, remains an immensely talented quarterback; Calvin Johnson and Golden Tate provide a fantastic one-two punch at receiver; Ameer Abdullah is one of the most electric young running backs in the league. If the offense can't put it all together out soon, it'll be a long season for Lombardi and the Lions.
