The New Orleans Saints can't run the ball, they can't stop the run and they aren't good against the pass. When you have Drew Brees at quarterback, the rest of that doesn't matter quite as much.
NFL picks and predictions, Titans vs. Saints 2015: New Orleans expected to keep rolling
The Saints have won four of five behind a resurgent Drew Brees.
After an 0-3 start, the Saints have won four of five as Brees have put up big numbers. During the hot streak, he's completing 72 percent of his passes for 1,766 yards, 13 touchdowns and just four interceptions. In last week's 52-49 win over the New York Giants, he threw for 505 yards and seven touchdowns.
On Sunday, he'll be matched up with a decent Tennessee Titans pass defense that has picked off eight passes in seven games. The problem will be finding a way to cover all of Brees' potential targets, from receivers Brandin Cooks, Willie Snead and Marques Colston to tight end Benjamin Watson and running back Mark Ingram. That's a task that has been beyond most teams in the last five weeks.
Tennessee's offensive success will depend on Marcus Mariota's health. Mariota is expected to return after a two-game absence, but if he's not ready, Zach Mettenberger will get the start again. Last week, he threw for 171 yards and an interception in a conservative attack that averaged only 7.8 yards per completion. If he plays again against New Orleans, the Titans will need a big running game from Antonio Andrews and third-down back Dexter McCluster if they want to keep up with the Saints' high-octane offense.
Unsurprisingly, the experts of the football world don’t think that is going to happen. All eight panelists at CBS Sports are picking the Saints to win in Mike Mularkey’s debut as interim head coach, as are all eight selectors here at SB Nation.
