PLAYOFF RACE: Top AFC teams can clinch on Sunday. The Patriots, Bengals and Broncos can all secure spots in the postseason on Sunday. Here's what has to happen. Here's a very candid look at the NFL playoff picture.
The NFL playoff picture is starting to take shape
The NFL playoff picture could be decided, partly, in Week 14. Let’s take a look.

STEELER SURPRISE: The bombs-away Steelers should terrify the rest of the AFC. The AFC wildcard race is really getting interesting thanks to the Steelers.
SOUR TIMES IN PHILLY: Eagles’ DeMarco Murray won’t get a lot of carries. It seems like the Eagles are benching DeMarco Murray yet again or demoting him at least.
PATRIOT WAY: The Patriots are about to find out if scheme trumps talent. The injuries are adding up, and the Patriots are going to have to lean on their scheme to avoid their first three-game losing skid since 2002.
GRONKING TO REMEMBER: Rob Gronkowski could play this week. That would obviously be a big help for the Patriots, but you never know when it comes to Bill Belichick and the injury report.
PLACE YOUR BETS: 5 best bets for Week 14 include the Jaguars and Steelers. Seriously. It sounds crazy, but betting is all about the risk, right?
CAM IS DEALING: Cam Newton’s deep throws are too much for teams. The Panthers used the deep ball to bury the Saints, further cementing Cam Newton’s MVP credentials. Retired NFL defensive end Stephen White breaks it down.
INJURIES:
- Philip Rivers will attempt to play through flu. A flu won't keep Rivers from starting his 157th straight game.
- Gerald McCoy, Lavonte David expected to play. The Bucs should have their top two defenders ready for today.
- Broncos list of injuries could lead to disaster. Wait, Broncos fans are worried about losing to the Raiders?
RATED ROOKIE: Marcus Mariota Closing in on rookie record. The kid is good, and he’ll soon have his own page in the record book.
HOW TO WATCH: A Week 14 viewing guide based on draft order. In case making the playoffs is no longer part of your rooting interests, read this.
NO-WIN SITUATION: If you ran the Rams, would you ... The Rams need a quarterback, but they have a coach known for ruining quarterbacks. Something’s gotta give.
