Eric Berry’s amazing comeback continues

Out of league last year battling lymphoma, the Chiefs safety is the NFL’s top safety this season and headed to the Pro Bowl.

Orlando Ramirez-USA TODAY Sports

PRO BOWL ROSTER: Cam Newton, J.J. Watt lead the 2016 Pro Bowl roster. Newton was one of 10 (!!) Panthers to make the cut.

BERRY IS BACK: Chiefs safety Eric Berry made the Pro Bowl roster. It’s a pretty cool honor for a guy who sat out last season battling cancer.

BEARS SNUBBED: No Chicago Bears in the Pro Bowl. Well, it is just one big popularity contest, right?

GIVE WOODSON A CHANCE: Raiders considering giving Charles Woodson offensive snaps. YES!

WHAT ABOUT NORMAN: Why hasn’t Josh Norman been fined yet? Because it’s not Friday. Although, the NFL might act a little earlier this week given the holiday. Speaking of Norman, here’s a good All-22 look at his battle with Odell Beckham Jr. last Sunday.

FIRE TOMSULA: The 49ers will not right the ship with Jim Tomsula. Tomsula doesn't seem like the guy who can bring the 49ers back from the depths of despair. A new owner and team CEO might not hurt either.

COLTS UNDER FIRE: T.Y. Hilton blames the play-calling for Colts’ struggles. A player complaining about the playbook to media is NEVER a good sign.

A NEW TEST FOR THE NFL: A Test of the NFL’s domestic violence policy after Ray Rice ... An incident between an NFL player and his girlfriend reveals the pressures on a victim to talk or not, and how the league’s new investigative process works.

BREES HURTING: Drew Brees has torn plantar fascia in right foot. He’s meeting with a specialist this week, and that could determine whether or not he plays again this season.

CONCUSSIONS: The U.S. House of Representatives announced Tuesday that it is going to investigate concussions, head injuries and their impact as a public health issue.

NO MORE BATS: Panthers coach Ron Rivera blames the ‘No Fun League’ for his ban on baseball bats. Rivera also defended his players against accusations that they directed homophobic slurs at New York Giants receiver Odell Beckham Jr. prior to Sunday’s game.

COOL STORY: Jets sign the NFL receiver who was asking for a job with a sign outside NRG Stadium. This story had a happy ending.

WEEK 16 PICKS: NFL picks for Week 16 ... Playoff spots and pride are on the line in the second-to-last week of the regular season. SB Nation’s NFL experts make their Week 16 picks.
